The first picture presents a mystery. The photograph dated around 1900 is titled Lime Street. We know it as Main Street but its also been identified as Skittergate

1905 - over the Bridge but no sign of the Shop but notice the haystack in Burngarth
From the 1907 "Villages of Yorkshire" - we got the 7th most votes, Thornton-le-Dale was top.
"picturesque roadway through the village with a crystal stream tumbling over miniature cascades until at last it loses itself in the small lake at the foot of the village, whence the paper mill and small corn mill derive their power"
St Johns Road - early 1900's
Here is a drawing by George Walker (1906 - 1987), alongside the photograph that inspired him. He was a prolfic amateur artist who lived in Harrogate. A painter & decorator by trade employed by the local hospital Board, who in his spare time drew the churches & buildings of West & North Yorkshire,

Hungate in the 1950/60's - notice the Halt sign, before they 'slackened' it to Slow - why!
This is from about the 1970's - notice the tree with the circular seat (still there) & another view of the same place a little earlier

A good deal earlier - can anyone guess an approximate date, maybe based on the clothes?
What about a date for this, electricity was in the village?
